Click “BodyParts3D/Anatomography”.

Step1: Generating an anatomical image.

The body parts are organized in a tree structure.

To access the body parts, click the “＋ button” and the body parts contained inside the folders will be displayed.

To look at the three dimensional images of the body parts in the center and right panels, click on one of the folders.

To start editing the images drag and drop the folder(s) or image(s) of your choice to the bottom panel.

Then click the Anatomography tab.

Since the folders “cardiovascular system” and “respiratory system” were selected, the body parts contained inside the two folders are displayed in the panels.

To delete the body parts displayed in Anatomography, click the BP3D Viewer tab and remove the unwanted parts from the bottom panel by selecting it and then pressing the delete key on the keyboard.

The “respiratory system” has now been removed from Anatomography.

To add the “respiratory system”, drag and drop the folder to the bottom panel.

Step 2: Manipulating the view point and size of the anatomical image

The view points of the anatomical image are controlled by clicking the arrows of the Image rotation. The anatomical image can be rotated around the horizontal or vertical axis.

The image can also be rotated using these icons.

The six icons are useful to readily change the view points of the anatomical image.

The magnification of the anatomical image is controlled by the Zoom slider at the top right. The magnification can also be specified by changing the numbers (max: 30 min: 1) of the select box.

There is another way to rotate the image; select the image and drag it to change the view points (default setting). If the arrow icon on the top left corner is selected, the same operation will change the location of the image.

Step 3: Manipulating the color and opacity of the anatomical image

To find out the name of a certain body part displayed in Anatomography, click on it. The name of the selected part will be displayed on the “Pick tab” list.

To manipulate the color and opacity of the selected body part(s), tick the check box(es) of the “Pallet” column.

The pallet column controls the removal, color and opacity of the selected body part(s).

To change the color of the selected body part, click the cell of the “Color” column and select a color of your choice from the color pallet.

To change the opacity of the selected body part, click the cell of the “Opacity” column and select a number from the list.

0.0 will make the selected body part completely transparent rendering it invisible, while 1.0 will make it visible. The default opacity is set to 1.0.

To delete a body part from Anatomography, tick the check box of the “Remove” column of the corresponding body part.

Step 4: Saving and sharing (printing, sending or generating a dynamic URL) the anatomical image

Two types of dynamic URLs are available. Click the “Link” button on the top right corner and a small window will display an “Editor URL” and an “Image URL”.

To select the entire URL click on it and copy the “Image URL”.

Open a new window or tab on your web browser and paste the copied URL into the address bar.

Reload the web browser to display the anatomical image.

Since this is a still image the image cannot be edited.

If the image needs reediting, the “Editor URL” is suitable, because this dynamic URL will activate Anatomography as well as the specified anatomical image. Copy the “Editor URL”, paste it in the address bar and reload the web browser.

To send the anatomical image to a third party, click the “Send” button next to the “Link” button. The “Send” button will activate an email client and generate an email that contains the dynamic URL in the body.

To print the anatomical image, click the “Print” button next to the “Send” button. This will display a printable image on the web browser.
